            Cheers mate for the help.
Just wondering where to fish for them on the night tides, fishing it up. You get loads of pound and a half things on the night tides from the river wear sometimes twenty to thirty a tide (rathouse corner area, glass centre etc using fresh crab). Just was wondering where you can get the better fish in the summer locally 3lb-4lbs,only seen two decent codling last summer on the night tides on the barrier one about three and a half and me mate got one 4lbs 2oz. Is shields Walkway, the tyne not worth a shot in the summer night tides for codling? Any ideas lads

As above, head up to northumberland way and hit the kelp beds. The resident reddies are pretty much the only decent size cod you're likely to see around this time of year. You'll get the odd one popping up here and there but 99% of the decent ones are spawning in deeper water at the mo.
