Yet another floatation suit thread!

Yes its that time of year! Some of the best fishing to be had, but Im a soft sh*te in the cold!

As I have just taken fishing back up this year and previously sold all my gear in a joblot years back, I desperately need to get a new floatation suit this weekend.

Looking for something very warm and obviously tried n tested waterproof, I have trawled through loads of threads, but still have a dialema...

I love the look of the imax lite, but read to many reports of them leaking at the seams... So I'm put off these.

I see the Fladden have really good write ups, and not heard a bad word mentioned by anyone owning one. My concern with them is the luminous yellow sleeves & cuffs. My old one was similar in colour and after a few trips the cuffs looked manky being bright yellow and I couldnt get them clean, so this has put me off a bit.

Can anyone comment on the Bison ones who owns one? I see a few people recommend them, but anyone owned one for a year or more who can comment?
I am very dubious about them as I previously purchased a "premium" Bison 2 rod stand from flea bay, advertised as the best quality stand the seller have ever sold and they had big feedback... It is downright rubbish, slightest breeze and its over. Even on a still day it springs up and moves around a lot unless weighed down in the centre. Total Crap!
So I am rightfully concerned about another of their products, it also looks abit cheap (£77 with 3rd pc undergarment).

Or can anyone comment on the Fisheagle ones? I really like the look of them, they seem to have all the features that the better known ones have, but never had any experience in any of their gear. They also look a bit on the cheap side, this always puts me off when comparing.

If I cant get good feedback on either of the last 2 I mentioned, it looks like I will be pushed down the Sundridge road, its just I see a few people seem to comment they are not as good as they used to be and some showing unexpected wear after a year, I also preferred the old style/colours..

Apologies for starting yet another similar thread to the many previous and for it being as long as it is, but I am keen for specific feedback on the Bison & Fisheagle. Or high recommendations for any type with over a years usage.
I obviously dont want to have to buy another next year, just like I am going to have to do with my "premium" stand!

Cheers.

hi there....i bought a second hand slightly rip on the sleeve sundridge flaoty one piece suit for about 12 quid...worn it thru rain snow cold ...it has not let me down yet....cant fault it for that i paid for it ...i got a set of thermal baselayers from sports direct as well to help me ....so far so good

i got the old 1 piece SAS mk11, and its the best suit i have had, got the newer 2 piece entec and its not as good as the SAS, also got the IMAX and thtas deffo not as good, had the fladden and gave it away. IMO sundridge SAS MK11 all the way mate, if ya can get one that is

hi their ive just got the imax suit had it for 8 weeks now.been out in it four times now when raining no leaks mate great suit too. only down side a bit too reflective for me. but truly cant fault it mate.

av had the imax an after about 13 months the stitching started to come away and leaked,
ended up buyn a sas mk6 and its fab mate had it since last year now and its still as good as the day i bought it

Marinepool salopettes/floaty jacket 10 years plus and still top notch if not a little grubby in places. If you can find one sit down when waiting for the price.

Thanks for all comments so far, particilarly r.e. the SAS Mk6, as this is the one I was going to buy before someone posted on NESA theirs had holed between the legs within a year, which was the only thing putting me off that particular one.

I see loads of them Fisheagle ones have been sold, but problem is people tend to give their feedback on receipt or after a single session...

Will make a decision over next few days so pls feel free to post your experiences.

Thx a lot !

Edit:
Fishing Republic are also showing every Sundridge item of clothing as being out of stock..

is the fisheagle light weight?

Dont think so, I obviously dont own one asking about them, but with all them pockets and the features I doubt it.
Have read a few positive reports I found elsewere, but still not decided.

btw if anyone is interested, Glasgow Angling have them in for 69.99 with a free smock worth 12.99 (in the readers offers section). I presume the delivery will be no more than advertised through their fleabay shop (69.99 there too, without the smock). On the down side, I found this info out by seeing that last year they sold them in this section for 49.99! I dont know for how long they were on @ that price tho.

Have a look at the new SAS Mk 7 jacket, now available, looks the business, ive just bought one along with their ( sundridge ) standard bib and braces. First time out kept me red hot, not been out in wet weather yet, but from their reputation i have no worries.

Got a mk7 on watch mate, but its the jacket only :( Having said that bib n braces are easy to pick up

Just splashed out and bought a Sundridge Crossflow for this season. The last two suits were Sundridge MK 5 and 6. Still have jacket from 6 which is in good nick. Best thing about these 100 % waterproof suits is the side pockets on chest. They are lined with wool and very warm. Fisheagle, Fladen and Bison do not have these.
They are a godsend in cold weather.
Mick.
ps the Crossflow is the breathable suit.

PS Think Sundridge have realised selling the suits in seperate sets is a good idea as one part outlasts the other. I have used salpettes/bottoms for boat fishing which has caused excess wear.
Mick.

Thanks v much for your input Mick, as this is a very important must have for me.

Maybe the advertisement is mis-leading, as they state "•Fleece lining body/hood and pockets with Safety Whistle."

But I cant see this pointed out on the informative diagram????

Can any Fisheagle owners confirm one way or other? I am so tempted by the price now after reading some good reviews as I could buy 2 of these over 3 year for the price and lifespan I would expect from 1 Sundridge suit.

Cheers
