With the cold weather upon us now what type of clothing do the lads recommend to keep warm and dry this time of year? What's the best makes out there? Titan, Grey's, Imax etc? Just can't seem to get away with wearing my flotation suit and neoprene waders just don't seem to keep my feet warm - thought about the sundridge hotfoot boots but it wouldnt take long for the water to come over the top.

I just wear a hellyhanson suit and a hoody underneath it keeps me very warm.

The killer for me last night was my feet - I tried dancing around and everything, but couldn't warm them up for toffee...it was a cold night on the NESA Comp but I was roasting, was wearing multiple layers as well as neoprene chesties - top that off with a half mile trek across rocks and beach

I'm going to buy a bib and brace/salopette type affair for the occasions when I'm not fishing the beach or rocks for my legs - as to the upper part of my body I wear thermals, T shirts, jumper, smock and then a £20 high vis' jacket from B&Q

I totally agree with the comment about chesties still leaving the feet cold - would neoprene socks solve this:question:

Tried the neoprene sock approach before... couldnt tuck my trousers into my ankles when putting my waders on and consequently my pants rode higher and higher up my leg every step I made, eventually the flesh around the bottom of my leg was exposed and chaffed like mad against the seam on my waders... VERY, VERY SORE!!!

Invest in some top quality thermal underwear. Add lots of thin layers. Same goes for socks lots of thin pairs are better than 1 thick pair. Tried the neoprene sockettes but found them bulky and not that warm after the material became compressed.

Neoprene waders are good though and should keep you warm in the really cold weather. Hate them in warmer weather though, you sweat like a fat lass.

Don't forget to buy your waders a size too big for the extra socks.

Best coat ive got for the cold stuff is the daiwa coastal smock, certainly a lot warmer than greys and titan coats i have had.

I use the Sundridge hot foot boots,highly recommend them for dry land fishing ie rivers and piers and maybe rock marks that dry out completly,they are not that good for walking long distances as they are like Moon boots.Other than that its waders with high wicking underwear or cycling (or running) tights,i wear a cotton Titan smock under my waterproof Titan smock,you can always take them off its it too hot but you cant put them on if you dont have them

Just a couple of T shirts and my high vis rig jacket,don't go in for the fancy pricey stuff as that outfit works for me.
On the bottom half my waders or some padded bib style trousers i got cheap.
Never real been cold but i was also the same offshore,just don't feel the cold that much.
