My son went to Druridge Bay on Sunday night (along with half of Northumberland he reckoned), and landed a cod that he measured and released at 70cm, which roughly works out at around 10lb. Fat-bellied thing it was. He was using squid and mussels. One of his smaller codling was badly-hooked so he kept that. It had been feeding on crabs, lugworm, prawns, sandeel and a small flattie. Looks like the swells have brought the fish in close.
