FISHING REPORT 16/8/10
The mixed weather this week has cooled the lakes and resulted in some good fishing conditions. Anglers have been taking plenty of fish on a variety of methods with lures, buzzers and dries all taking fish on different days. Buzzers, bloodworm and PTN are often out fishing larger patterns. Plenty of fish were caught on dries, shuttle cocks, daddies and damsels. Certain areas are holding large numbers of fish and it is worth investigating all the lakes to find these hotspots.
Three doubles have been landed this week. Peter Williams of Yarm caught a nice fish of 17lb on a Black Zonker using a 5lb leader on a floating line. The fish took 15 minutes to land. Peter Williamson landed a Rainbow of 12lb from West Lake caught on a small Black Buzzer. Jonathon Marsh of Sunderland landed a 13lb fish on a Black Hopper one of 8 fish he caught using this method and Jonathon Walters of Coundon caught 15 fish on a variety of dries..
The best flies this week were Diawl Bach’s, Damsels, Crunchers, Invicta, Klinkhammers, Black Hoppers, Hares Ears and mini lures.
The lakes are now open until 9.00 pm on an evening and and evening ticket (4pm onwards) is available for £10.
