Headed down the walkway yesterday evening armed with rag, lug and maccy... had a couple of hours before meeting up with Philitofish... managed to winkle out 4 codling, biggest going about 30cm and smallest about 5cm! I used to keep bigger goldfish! 
Lots of other lads fishing but only saw a few other fish caught. All small aswell by the looks of them.
Not even a sniff on the maccy, thought there may have been a few whiting about or even flatties .... plenty of crabs around at the minute aswell, hooks coming back stripped. Roll on a few hard frosts to get rid of them!!
If the amount of small codling in the river is owt to go by then I think we should be in for a decent winter!
