CLEATED SOLES  will serve you well on the beach and if you\'re careful, will be just as adequate on rocks. Screw-in studs do add more grip.


FELT SOLES are great for wading over rocky river beds where many of the stones are smooth and maybe even have a bit of weed on them. Walk on wet grass or slushy mud with felt soles and you will slip all over the place.


NINJA SOLES are probably the best choice for sea anglers. Combining a hard rubber sole with a series of stainless steel spikes set into the rubber sole.
