Tynemouth Beach Tue 23rd

Under orders from “The Boss” not to be out late on a school night, me and the little-un had a quite couple of hours from 7 to 9 on Tynemouth beach last night. As the tide dropped, we worked our way from Stony skeer past the Boiler to the Bottom of the Stairs where conditions looked perfect. The fish didn’t agree. I blanked and the little-un returned his first ever flounder; the only fish of the night and a good one at about a pound and a half. How do they manage to take a 4/0 hook as big as thier mouth? Bait was crab and lug.

Four lads were fishing down the beach from us and someone had moved on to Slatey which looked good as we left. I wonder how they got on?

Good try Kevin, bet the youg'n enjoyed telling his mates at school.:D How did he stand up to the cold!:)

He was fine with the cold, apart from being disappointed that we had heavy sleet and not snow. I’m going to stop taking him with me as he’s outfished me on the last three out of four sessions. He's still no match when it comes to bait digging though.
