Got an ABu 6500 Rocket which I want to swap for a Penn 750 surfmaster or a shimano 8000 or similar fixed spool reel.
My second try at a multiplier but cannot get the hang of them, its just bird nest city for me.

heyy bud why dont ya get some lessons first ...thats a good reel ya have there buddy ...would love to offer ya one of my fixed spools but it would not do u justice..honestly a birds nest is only part of ya learning curve.

pistol , having used both fixed spool and multipliers they both are good tools , but if ur birdnesting a multiplier, that may mean even with a fixed spool ur technique may not be right ...so if u r gunning(pardon the pun) for distance , without the right technique the most expensive fixed spool would not do u any justice. u r location say tyne and wear, d ya ever pop down the durham beaches? say horden ?

might be an idea to get some casting lessons mate,no offence meant, then you could keep your reel and probably be putting in better distance too:)
