3.0am start this morning, out the piers for about 3.30am, Bert, Scull, Kenny, Stephen and me. The skipper was a bit worse for ware, he'd been clubbing til 1.30am, but that didn't affect his ability to find the fish. We ended up with 31 Cod to 8-9lb, 5 ling to 7lb, 1 pollack & countless coalies & macky. Some of the coalies were massive, in one drift Bert had 3 big coalies on the daylites and a cod on the ripper - great sport!

In between spells of heavy rain, weather was canny and sea was reasonably flat!

I had a nightmare again losing gear, lost approx 15 pirks and about the same sinkers! Still, I couldn't think of a better place I'd rather spend my birthday!

Thanks Bert!

Hell of a lot better than being at work like I was.

Norman said he was going out.....wonder how he got on.

Last time I didn't bother he had a cracking day.

Enjoy the rest of your birthday.

Cheers Lads,

There's not much chance of me turning down a fishing trip for work, and absolutley no chance on my b'day

Didn't see too much of the rest of the day, fell asleep at about 8.0pm and just woke up 9.30am

Bert, it`s a bit unfair with your man for the doubler (Keith) taking every opportunity , and my man for the doubler (Ian) his gaffer but having to go to work LOL ........ a pint between us for the first to a double if Ian gets it you buy in the zetland, If Keith gets it I buy in the rattler (or any pub of your choice ) LOL nowt like a bit of competition hahahahahaha. They must both be sooooooo close, theres lots of 10lb+ fish around this year.
