hi folks ,a belated catch report from friday as there is a problem with netter coming and scooping all fish off the pier end when the big cod are around so i thought id give it a few days first.plenty of large cod caught including a brace of 9lb fish and another lad had 4 fish upto 12lb.very localized on the pier the fish were and i was not in the best place.i ended up with 10 fish to 1lb and my bud had 5 fish upto 2lb.could not keep a bait in the water long enogh for the big girls to get my hook.never mind though

hi craig.steetley pier is in old hartlepool,its a fantatic venue that chucks up 20lb cod and bigger lost each year.the lift is 30 ft and a lot of places cant be used with a drop net.also the north east bass record of nearly 14lb came from the pier this time last year and there are double galore in feb and march.straight after a good northerl.easterly sea this place is like a wet fish quay with over 200lb of quality whiting on a bad night on the pier.on a good cod night every man can walk off the pier with bag fulls of cod,the bigguns are just luck as there a thousands of cod under the pier after a storm.
its 30 quid a year membership(full im afraid) or 5 quid a rod to fish.as you can imagine its heaving after a storm and lads camp out to get the best pegs.no im not joking.
