Well here goes, We got down the quay for bang on 4.0am, decided on the early start as the forecast for late morning was not good. Bert and myself on Shady & Kenny and Kyle aboard The Boys. Crackin morning sea flat calm and not much wind
We were soon into cod and this is the pic Norman received about 5.30am
We ended up with 13 cod a few about 6lb, a couple about 8lb and the best an 11lber caught by Bert who was on his usual form catching 10 of our 13 cod.
Kenny & kyle ended up with 11 similar stamp cod best 10lb (Kyle)
Norman made an appearance in Slinky and landed 15
Not a bad total considering we were back on the moorings for about 9.0am
Thanks Bert
Roll on next week

Woken up this morning by the sound of a messege on mobile so just had to take a look .... at 5.30am
LOL the picture shown above, well ..... what could I do haha just get dressed quick, pick up a box of squid from the garage freezer and head on down to th marina.
managed to get out and past piers down to where the lads were fishing for about 7.00 to 7.30 (had to fuel up on the way unfortunately)
Everyone seemed to be catching but mainly Kyle who just had a permanent bend in his rod I only got one here so decided to move a few hundred yards away to a favourite spot since the tide was just about right for it.
New Trace (home made special brand flashers) with squid on the bottom and bare on the top hook. It didn`t even get to the bottom before the rod was over into a 3lbder.
Next drop same gear (same piece of squid) was what felt like a really bigger fish, only to find it was a double header (two at once)
Time to call bert and explain a visit may be worth while .......
LOL as ever when you broadcast a good spot . it all dies off (except for one nice 6lbder that I caught while bert and Keith looked on)
after some 20 mins of quiet bert and K decided to go back th their own little hot spot . . . which must have been the switch to turn them back on again as once again the double headers came in, along with several singles.
After having boxed about a dozen codling I decided to start cleaning them so pulled line up to half depth whilst I knealt and done the biz ... lol only to find they were swimming up to mid water and self hooking the rod was rattling like crazy in the rod holder
Great Day in all , thanks a mint to bert for the early morning call or else I`d have missed it.
Total was 14 codling best about 6lb, a few about 4 and 5 and the rest about 2 or 3. Not as big a catch as the lads in fish sizes but great fighting fish all the same.
Started getting a bit lumpy around 9.00 is so like bert and the lads I too came back in early . . . . . must of only had an hour and a half fishing so certainly was a good day.
The seasons certainly started, no mackerel but didn`t do anything to attract them anyway today so maybe they`re there just waiting.

Just cold baked bean sarnies & smiths square crisp sarnies, no match for a MEGA about the only thing that could possibly tempt me to work a saturday morning.
