HI lads and lasses
Its my first catch report. A trip to the Mull (20 - 29 aug)
We loaded the van up and off we went....and set the tent in maryport caravan site (bit further south than drummore) had a good feast and went fishin.
Using poppers my mate caught his first ever bass...
That was all for that nite, but trying to catch bass on poppers is MINT..
a couple of times the fish was a foot out of the water just missing the lure (exiting stuff)
We fished that spot 6 times through the holiday, the best nite was thur
25 - fri 26 quite a long way from the main springs 6 days earlier
This time using lug on a 4/0 barbless uptider and a sliding boom (3oz lead) and a carp rod in about 7 foot of water (this was 2 days after our tent nearly blew away in 60mph winds....i actualy slept through it all while me m8 was up all nite double pegging using his boot as a hammer )
my new pb bass
that lighthouse on me bonce is a LED !!!!!!!!
and another
This one was twice over the limit and was speeding
eds turn
i had never caught a doggie b4 but i was told it was a cert heres eds doggie
and also some nice pollock
In all we had over 150 fish on the trip....12 bass to 6lb (4 over 5lbs ) pollock to 5 lbs makie to nearly 2lb lots of undersised coalies and flounder from various marks around the mull..
ALL fish were returned alive except 2.....1 makie (for the "who can catch the most doggies on the same bait" comp and 1 foul hooked launce (also used as bait)
I shal return many times next year hoping to better this one
Ive only just taken up fishin again 18 months ago and boy has it changed...within the last 4 months ive caught turbot, conger and lobster from the shores of the north east....i forgot how good fishin is
Cheers lads......
great webbie
p.s. was using a fuji finepix cam....not very good for fishin...hates sand and lugworm on it...

Nice one mate....sounds like great fishing.
I like the idea of going to the west coast and not risking your life climbing over rocks for fish, (take note Sir Edmund).
