This is what it's all about - a double figure fish!!
I've waited all my life for this!!
On Saturday 25th February I was sea fishing at a local shore spot, close to my home by the name of Cullercoats harbour, Tyne and Wear . I was using a cocktail of ragworm and frozen peeler crab on a single trace Sakuma 3/0 hook . The sea state was very rough following 6 days of north easterly winds . On my first cast I managed to hook and land a cod of 15lb 08 oz 02drms which was weighed and verified by Borough of Tynemouth Angling Club competion secretary Dave Hayley . This is a personal best fish for myself , beating my previous best cod of 8lbs . I have been driving my wife mad with my pursuit of a double figure cod for many years . I was really excited to have at last caught my own specimen that I had to ring her and let her know ,even though it was 07-30 on Saturday morning . I have four photographs that were taken by Alan Charlton.

Hi Marty and welcome to NESA.

Well done on the 15lber - you don't get many of those from the shore these days.

Alan Charlton mentioned it on the Board last week.

You can send a photo or 2 to me at the address below, Marty and I'll post them on here for you. Alternatively, go to the FAQ section (top right of the page - under the blue banner), you'll find details of how to post your photos in there.........you'll need a username & password from me though to access the photo uploader.
