Hi all,
Not the most exciting of catch reports but I thought I'd share anyway.
I fancied an easy session today and ended up heading down to the basin for a few hours. I had a root about in the freezer and took along some sticky blacks, mussel and peeler legs. No live bait as I intended to fish before the shops opened.
I'm not sure if it was due to an increase in fresh water with all the rain we've been having lately, or that I hadn't got any live bait but it was hard going. I had a few bites which resulted in two little coddies and a couple of crabs.

There were a couple of jetskiers flying up and down the river at well over the speed limit. My 20lb mono would have been snapped off no trouble but I imagine braid could do some damage if they got it round their necks
I was also aware that I was constantly being watched by an old couple on their balcony - I've heard there's a petition to stop fishing around the basin...
Cheers,
James
