hello,
Fished shields the day, started at 11 and first chuck got a dab

So thought not a bad start, then the next chuck -

Then next chuck -

Canny flounder

Then at bottom water the rod went big style, I was in. I was fishing the 40 mark and new I'd have a problem getting it in. I was out well over a ton and got it back pumping and winching as hard as I could, I knew it was a big fish and put everything into it but i just couldn't get the fuc*er on top and about 30 yards out starting going through the kelp forest (low water at 40 if you know what I mean), then pulling so hard the fu**in hook pulled out. it was half straightened. Serves me right I suppose, 2/0 blue aberdeen.

Well this kind of fu**ed my head up but thought carry on, there's fish here. So next chuck gets a knock and just managed to land a one that's had a harder life than me -

Then got a canny ting. then a young guy with a couple of small kids came on and set up right behind me, i couldn't relaxe after that when the little girl was running round while the guy was setting up or trying to. Thank fu*k the mother came along and took control over the kids.

Then I moved up to 41 to keep away from them while chucking, first chuck there and cracked off in mid flight, so f*ck i thought, I'll just put my other reel on. Did that and guess what on the practice chuck? yer another midflight crack off. So looked at the 2 reels and decided there was more line on the first reel than the second so put that back on. Then a couple of chucks and snagged. Just can't believe how down hill my sesh went from a very promising start. That's life i suppose.

Oh, by the way Bob I'm still P'gMSL about that crack you told me when ganning off, class mate.

well done m8 hardlines on the one you lost 4/0 hooks next time so you dont lose that big piggy

we all get them days gordon, i took a walk up and thought it was you... i was the lad in a bobble hat and shorts :) quite recognisable.

All the flat pictured are dabs and good sized ones. Shame you never got eyes on the lost fish. I dont mind useing smaller hooks just strong patterns... i never trust blue aberdeens other than flatty bashing. If you like aberdeen patterns, try the varivas aberdeens, i use them in 4s, 2s and 2/0s or i use 2/0s 4/0s or 6/0s varivas big mouths... got alot of trust in them hooks. Landed a 5lber in the summer on a size 4 aberdeen, up the wall too.

What time was that mate? I was in a bit of a trance after loosing the fish and probably wouldn't even notice bob ganning past if he never said out.

Hard luck on the big one but at least you caught some nice dabs. I,ve tried the 44 mark at shields and had no luck at all.
