It felt rather odd winning a comp its never happened before. I promise next time i won,t shout everytime i get a fish poor lads next to me were fed up.
Still the comps in two halves so next part is round two and i have a feeling couple of the old hands will be out trying to stuff me
Mick.

The second leg fished 30/12/12 on South Shields pier with 6 anglers taking part. Again using the SAMF points scoring system. The combined total of points from both legs decided the winner. Mick Dunn was the in the lead with Dave Nevin not far behind. There weren't many fish being caught by several anglers along the pier with just the odd Whiting being landed. During the early part of the match there wasn't much happening with the odd fish being caught until Dave Nevin hooked a good fish from the end which slipped the hook after putting up a struggle . Not much later Steve Foster landed a 55cm codling from the round end gaining 158pts which gave him an overall score of 216pts just pipping Mick Dunn for the trophy by 4pts by the end of the match.

1) Steve Foster 3 fish for 216pts and H/F (3.8lbs when weighed later) of the comp.
2) Mick Dunn 1 fish for 49pts. Combined total of 212pts.

Steve here is the pic. Can,t believe i missed out on 4 points. Never mind tried my hardest today and saved the blanco with a nice 40 cm Whitie by the gate on my second last cast.

MR Dunn...your lucky to be in the B team. B is for BLANKO

Cheers chaps. It didn't even take the big bait meant for the codling it took the size 1 meant for the whiting. But it just shows what small hooks can do sometimes.
