Out again with Jim (northstar) yesterday, morning got off to a bad start with
four lads not turning up, they never phoned to say they were not turning up,
Jim tried contacting the lad who organised it for them, but he didn't have the balls to answer the phone, surely they realise the skips got to make a living,
anyway, the fishing was slow to start off with but the lads still managed to boat a few good sized ling and cod, chris again takeing the bulk of good sized
cod on Dustybins rippers, all lads came away happy with the days fishing, well
done again Jim.

Name and shame them and let other skippers know, names, telephone numbers, where they are from, even if they had a good excuse a quick 2 minute phone call is all it takes to let the skipper know, this kind of thing is starting to get a regular thing now with people not turning up, its hard enough for skippers as it is marine fees up diesel up and god no's what else they have to pay out, l would get myself a paypal account and make every one pay a deposit, no show lose deposit or book another day maybe that would stop these idiots doing it.

Deposit deposit deposit

Take money of them for each person and do it via paypal as a gift then no fees and no one can claim back its so simple and then the skipper can have the cash. It never happens if they have a deposit to pay

I organise quite a few boat trips and I always take £20 deposit off every one, and guess what, not one person has let me down, but if any did, then I would give the skipper there deposits. It is my name that it is booked under and I don't want my name tarnished.

Yup deposit unless you know and trust them. We pay £20 each by cheque on charter boats that dont know us. The only way to go.

yep have to agree with deposits now,i didnt until now, but an epidemic of scum not showing up/no contact has led me to a change of heart:(:(:(
