No closed zones , no quota cuts = No more cod - A very sad day indeed.

Im sure your all aware that under pressure from our fisheries minister Ben Berkshawe the eu commission have totally ignored pleas from the scientists and conservationists to close areas of the north sea to save the cod.
I feel this to be a very very sad day indeed. Im sure im not alone in noticing that the cod have almost gone from our shores. This year has been the worst ever for our shore fishing club in Whitby, im certain this is the same right across the north east. Bradshawe and the cronies in brussels have just past up one of the best ever chances to save the north sea cod.
I feel so angered by this that I have expressed my upmost disgust at the decission in a personal letter to Bradshaw. I am currently writing in all the forums I am a member of asking other members there to do the same and write to Bradshawe to let hgim know just what we think.

Thanks for posting that Seasonal. I\'ve thought about replying a few times as I\'m sure many people who\'ve read the post have but thought what can you say. The least we can do is write the letters and sign the petitons. BUT I fear the whole things gone to far already and think a lot of people realise this deep down. Cod will be allowed to disappear by the power brokers refusing to implement a complete ban on all commercial fishing, they don\'t care. Careful marketing can soon push another species into the limelight until it too is fished out.

Beb Bradshaw says there is loads of fish and recovery of the fish stocks is going well so i am going to send him a email and see if i can go fishing with him for the night ,He does not fish in any of the places me or my mates fish or he would no he is tal;king a load of bollocks like most mps

I dont think the bloke fishes i was just taking the p**s but it would be nice to have a m p who knows what he is talking about but bradshaw does not have a clue
