If if was me mate I'd definatly buy a rod 2nd hand. Then you'll have the spare cash for a rough ground reel as well.If you decide on the TT sport they are no bother in the rough ground. I've lifted cod up the top of the wherry with my mk1 TT and I seem to pull through more snags than with me komp SS which just snaps the line straight away.Happy searching. It's great when ya find the right one.
