New Clashwhannon camping area open

Just been informed by Martin that the new Clashwhannon camping area opens this weekend. Martin has refurbished the toilet block and has installed new lighting for the camping area and plug in power points.

Thanks for putting that on. I've been wondering if the camping bit was sorted. I want to get back up there and ya can't beat a nice steak in the pub after a days fishing.

Snatcher, if you happen to get over there in the near future can you take some photos of the camping area if its changed from before the storm washed it away. Cheers for the info, its our favourite base to take the kayaks to.

At our clash caravan now and here for about another 3 weeks. Will take a few pictures and post them onto this thread.

A bit late replying to the post but we have have just got back from a 4 week stint at our caravan on the Clash and internet coverage in the caravan is very poor. Mind you there is free WiFi in the pub on the site.

Just a reminder that the old camping area was destroyed by a storm last year. Martin has taken off three of the older caravans from the bottom site and has converted it to the new camping area. It is now open for bookings.

Lighting has been installed along with extra water taps and electric plug in points. Camper vans are also allowed on.

We are there for most of the summer so if you have never fished there before feel free to give me a knock for advice - caravan no 5 on the top.

I was there Thursday having a mooch about, would have given you a knock if I had read this - had some nice fish nearby.
I was due in a renter at Clashwhannon but got a lucky much cheaper dig nearby unexpectedly...I'll be at Clash next time I manage a week off work, nice site
