LRF or Light Game Rod Suggestions

I've been through 5 Tronix Rockfish UL's the past 2 years so i think it's time for an upgrade, but i'm finding it difficult to find decent reviews of lrf rods.

I want a light rod (1g-7g), probably a solid tip, that's capable of handling good fish.

i've been looking at the Tronix Hto rock fish Revolution UL, it's got good reviews but i don't want fork out double the money, on the same brand, for the same thing to happen. I'm also looking at a couple of the options from major craft like the solpara and crostage mebaru k.

If anyone has any experience of these rods or got another option it would be good to hear.

Cheers

Hi mate try the daiwa gekkabijin lrf rods. I'm going for the reel this year the only reel designed solely for the lrf market!!. The bushwacker also do an lrf series of rods which seem to be the same quality you'd expect :);)

Cheers forbthe advice mate, i saw those reels and drooled a little:D

The rods look great as well, the only thing is that it's a little short. I've noticed a few rods come on the market that are 8ft plus, designed for chucking light lures for miles and landing 5lb+ fish so i'm tempted to go down that route.

There's one thing that puts me off the savage gear range and that's the amount if line wrap i get around the last few eyes of me bushy.

I need a new reel for the rod so i'm going to add the gekka-whatever-it-is to the list.

Cheers

Have a look at The Art of Fishing

Ben was one of the guys who popularised lrf in the UK and knows his stuff.

Also, last time I was in Moonfleet, they seemed to be getting a load of lrf gear in, and you'll also get the chance to give one a waggle to see if it's what you're after.

What about the Sonik Rockchamp LRF Rods, I met Ian McCormack their Commercial Director at Amble Harbour and he was fishing with these rods; I was so impressed I went out and bought all three rods in the range. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
The 7ft6 3-12g easily 1lb-2lb Pollack from Samphire Ho on their first outing.
Ian tells me they are going to be matching them with a range of LRF reels as well.
