Let Down....

I ordered a Lowrance Elite 7x Hdi 2 weeks ago from a company called Cactus Marine, i was told they did not have one in stock but i would have it delivered within 4-7 days, so i paid by credit card.

Anyway, i was told after 7 days that i would be getting a tracking number the same day and i would have the Elite within 2 days. No number arrived, a day later i was told the same again...2 weeks have now passed, so i sent them a nasty email, and i got a reply saying they could not get an Elite until the end of June.. So i cancelled the order, and rang a company called Hudson marine and explained what had happened, before i could tell him the name of the company that had let me down, he said " I bet it was Cactus Marine"...

Apparently the glossy website is just a cover for a tiny company, that dont carry stock and have a lousy reputation around the chandlery companies.

Anyway, i have been assured that the Elite will be with me on Tuesday...oh and it is 25 quid cheaper...

So if any of you lads are thinking of buying electronics, give this company a wide berth....:thumbdown:

Thanks for that. Last year, when I was buying a fish finder I seriously considered buying from Cactus I am glad I didn't now and went elsewhere. At least you would have been covered by the credit card if it all went t*ts up

Lesson also learned by me, not to go with the first company that appears at the top of the Google search page...

Aye Google search page does bring up some weird things...

When I bought me cat I googled pussy harnesses as the daughter wanted to take it for a walk...God was I shocked..

I ordered the elite 4x dsi from a company called bottomline in IOM ordered it before 3pm it was there the next morning freepost. Spot on
