Is all the £10 getting donated to the newbiggin RNLI?

Kayak and boat competition

Very few Angling Clubs who run competitions for charities give ALL entry monies to the charities concerned. So far, for these two competitions, I have spent over £150 of my own money making telephone calls to try and "scrounge" prizes and also for printing and meetings with people concerned with the charity. It is becoming more difficult every year to get prizes free as ALL companies are feeling the pinch. I have not been able to get a kayak as first prize this year because of this. I am still on the "scrounge".

I have managed to get one or two rods and reels, plus other prizes.

I am lucky in the fact that I know a lot of MD's of tackle companies and am able to talk to them direct rather than a secretary.

We hope to raise a decent amount of money for the Newbiggin R.N.L.I.

There will be a raffle - the proceeds of which will go to the Lifeboat and are also hoping that there will be some spectators there at the wegh in as competitors are being asked to bring any unwanted fish (over the legal size limit please), which will be fillleted by Members of the South Beach AC who have kindly offered their services for the weigh ins. The fillets will then be given to members of the public in exchange for a donation to the R.N.L.I. In fact, if any of the competitors want their catch filleted in exchange for a small donation, I'm sure the lads will do this for them. The fish cannot be 'sold' as it is illegal to sell them without a fish selling licence.

If anyone has any further queries, please give me a ring on 0191-5184561.

Hope to see you there.

P.S. Ticketsd for the Boat Competition only will be on sale from Monday at Sports & Leisure, Blyth, telephone 01670-365980.
