Just to make some things clear for you guys.
This is the first stage of a European directive and it will happen by Christmas this year all over the country and new Byelaws will be in place by 2014
B&NNSAC = Berwickshire and North Northumberland Special Area of Conservation
from our point of view in this one specific case, it means the area around the causeway at Lindisfarne that we are currently allowed to dig on given to us in mitigation of Budle Bay.
Sea Grass has been identified as a feature /habitat that will be protected under European Law and is listed as a urgent threat in this area DEFRA have listed Crab tiling and digging with forks as a Red risk under a traffic light system the other colours will be dealt with at a later stage, Amber for instance and will include Sea Grass in Special protection areas (SPA'S birds) Estuarine rock, intertidal mud, sand the list goes on.

As you can see this is an ongoing process and this meeting is important for any of you that do not understand or have a concern regarding bait collection.

I will be at the open meeting and will be glad to explain the process you can see the matrix and ask what question you will.
