The next meeting of the Tyne & Wear Group which is on 4th March at 7.00 pm will be at Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle upon Tyne.
A grant has been made available towards the cost of Angling Coaches Courses. This is available through the Angling Development Board. I spoke to the Director of this Organisation yesterday and insisted that some of this money should go to sea anglers who wish to become coaches. If anyone is interested, they can contact me by email : [email protected] ... or telephone me on 0191-5184561 and I will be pleased to pass on contact details for this.
Net Gain is a body which has been set up by the Government to draw up plans for the siting of Marine Conservation Zones. Again this Organisation will have groups throughout the Country. There was a recent meeting at the Dove Marine Laboratory which I attended. Membrs of these groups will include the fishing industry, RSPB, diving groups, Natural England, manufacturing companies, anglers, etc. ... In fact anyone who uses the marine environment.
The next meeting for the whole of the North will be in Hull on the 11th February between 11.00 am and 4.00 pm. Anyone interested in attending this meeting, please contact me for details as the Organisers need to know who will be attending.
