Hi guy's

After fishing on and off for 30+ yrs, and now having arthritis in my hands. I have started to use a Fuji plate reel seat. I was told yrs ago that you put the sliding part facing up for fixed spool reels, and sliding part facing down for multiplier reels.

Just need to know if I remembered I am right. Thanks.

Don't think it would make any difference most pre built rods both sea and coarse used to have the slider at the top.Not wanting to put you off using one but I remember fishing years ago with a friend and well known angler when the one on his rod fell apart when reeling in a fish and was left standing with the rod in one hand and the reel in the other, I know you said you had arthritis but if I was you I would maybe consider sticking to a normal wich fitting and having the reel on the rod before you leave home or have someone that's fishing with you do it. Tight lines
