Had a few hours to kill with the little un today and she was dying to get out so given the sparse reports headed to Cresswell to fish bottom. Lovely sea on, wish it was a few months back would have guaranteed a few cod at night. Fished in front of the boat club on the advice of a lad from Mcdermotts after asking him where well get a flat tie or two.
Lobbed her rod out no more than 20 yards into an obvious hole and chucked my lug bait out about 60 towards the third breaker.
First chuck little pulls in a tiny flounder, then a bigger one, then another a bit bigger then a decent plaice bout a pound and a half. Me- still nowt!
Eventually, I get a right bang and hit something- I'm hoping bass here, wind wind wind, getting its head down and then ping- line goes! A consequence of not giving me gear a spring MOT I reckon. Anyway, little un gets two more flounders and I blank. Only there an hour and a half like, lug and rag- all her fish were no more than twenty yards out. Gonna have a try at dusk tomorrow hoping for umm it decent. Took photos but nee idea how to put them up and tbh nothing great to see. Lovely little sesh tho.
