I guess its safe to assume then that anyone with 600-1000 traps is on the dole, as I'd love to know how with a full time job they can get there everytide to check em. and with that number of traps its clearly a commercial enterprise, from 1000 traps, if they get 100 crabs a day, and assuming tacles shops are gonna try double up on prices that could be 50 quid a day, 7 days a week, is 350 quid a week, £1400 a month cash in hand as a little fiddle!! whilst getting the dole, housing benefit and the rest.

makes paying my taxes a joy knowing that

sry  mark  your assumption is wrong

i for 1   only sell my crabs  to me  friends at a fraction of the cost  it would  be in a  tackle shop  and to those who are at work and cant get down to  do the traps , my traps are shared   between 6 ppl [ and i only have about 150 ]

and  im only down every other day

other crabbers  who share  part of the river  i use are  both in full time  work and only occasionally get down  aswell
