well , finally got sick of casting spinners out and hauling mackerel in, plus I have enough for winter bait now. I still enjoy catching them but it wears out my arm, so I tried cork fishing, I had seen it done in spain and I had done there too . For those who haven't heard of it before it is just beach casting but using a sliding lead and attaching a cork to your hook snood about six inches from the hook to allow the bait to float off the bottom at a depth you will have to determine. I find about 4ft usually works. make sure your rod is secure because when the mackerel hits the bait it goes off like a steam train. Great fun and not as tiring. I wanted to try out my reels ready for the winter cod. give it a go.
