They've been patchy further north too Gary. My biggest on Saturday was just 3lb from Craster. I saw in some of the charter boat reports from down your way that they didn't seem to be getting a lot either - ling to 7.5lb and codling to 5lb isn't fantastic. Plenty of baitfish in the water however - mixture of herring and sandeels. Maybe the water has just been too warm for them?
For whatever reason not the numbers or size of cod we would like to see but just need to be positive and believe they will be back. The only way to find out if this will happen is to keep fishing.
