Around 11.45pm the 2 lads went home so i jumped in there spot as ive had canny sesh's from there before.

The fishes died and the hooks were almost straight in their stomachs, had used big baits just rag n mac & used kamasan 1/0 crab hooks:cool: very good hooks thanks for the tip g-force!

Me m8 caught 1 whiten & 1 ling very lil indeed so nee pics.

First light got me spinning gear out & caught 7 coalies nee mac but there was a lad on using a spinner & catchin single macs:( unlucky for some, me m8 got 1 coalie on feathers.

1 Whiten
1 Ling
1 Codling
8 Coalies

Looks like you found the right "plaice" mate:D except they're flounders! Still a canny session by the looks of it - just a shame the mackerel are taking their time. Might have another try myself towards the end of the week if it stays settled.

Glad the hooks worked for you - I find them very good for all manner of small stuff, and if the fish do swallow them right down you can cut them off & they'll rust away pretty quick; better than riving them out.

Gary :)

Yeah, they are definitely flounders. In future Richie, try cutting the line as close as you can to the hooks and return the fish. You'll be surprised how quick they rust away. Well done on catching though.:)

well done mate, pity bout them all swallowin hooks:(, if fish a catch swallow the hook a norm cut close and return BUT am not totaly convinced that the hooks do rust away:confused:

I know what you mean about leaving hooks in - always feels bad but better than the alternative. Another thing I often do when fun-fishing is crush the barb so that in most cases I can get in with the forceps & wiggle the hook out.

That's also why I suggested those little Kamasan crab hooks - in the smaller sizes (1 down to 4's) I find that after a couple of sessions they're pretty much rusting away on the end of my traces & need replacing. I'm pretty sure they'll rust away ok - certainly a darn sight faster than a 4/0 viking!

Gary :)

Flounders right well im still crap at identifying flatties then lol will cut close to hook when i next catch.. thanks for the tip lads. And i think they will rust away as already on an night sesh the blue paint work starts to come off badly like back to silver so i would think they would most probs rust away. hope to throw them all back safely next time lads;) unless its a big-gin:D hope to get back out the end of the week when the sun comes out.

welldone and they looked like they been there ages and fryed in the sun no need to cook em when ya got home

one looks possibly a plaice
