Had some worm to use up from the open on Sunday so headed down to Blyth beach tonight. When i got there there was too much water to get onto the sand bar so i went for a few chucks near the pier where the conditions were a world away from the other end of the beach.....flat as up here. Couple of chucks came to nowt so headed back to my 1st mark to find it full of anglers!

Got set up and went to cast out.....then cracked off!!! Great as i only had two, two hook flappers with me and i'd just lost the 1st 1.
Next cast produced my 1st fish 2lbish codling.
Next 4 casts all came back with fish around the same stamp then i got 1 around 4 1/2lb
Tried some crab on my next cast but they didn't want to know so back to blacks and fish on again this time around 3 1/2 lb then a couple more around 1 1/2lb before i went and cracked off again loosing my last flapper rig and this was almost to be the end of the fish for me.
People to the left of me still pulling fish in almost every cast but i just couldn't get another out until i had a good size flounder on my pennel rig.

Called it a night around 1.30am after running out of worm and crab just coming back untouched.

My best session so far!!! :)

Will try and take some pics next time but i was very busy and my hands were covered in worm juice. Kept 5 fish for the pan and released the rest.

Cracking session there, was torn between the Hall and Lynemouth for a session tomorrow evening but think I've made my mind up now :D North of the Tyne it is

Got loads of rigs and 4 wallets full of them but that was the only 2 hook flappers i had after some heavy losses lately.
I will be making more as fast as i can now tho!!

you had a good nite mate i was on the pier and i never got a bite i was using blacks rag squid n crab well done on ur catch mate

good stuff bud.

i fished the beach last night with my mate.

we fished 3 spots and couldnt hold the bottom with 7oz leads, i called it a day at 9pm, my mate moved a wee bit after i left, gave him my bait from sunday and the fish came on big style around 11pm ish. think he had 6 around 2lb each, nee good for thursday, sea will be flat.

Canny sesh. Fished it tonight, 8.45pm - 11.20pm. One flounder to frozen black and squid. Sea flattening all the time with a strengthening SW wind. There were plenty rods out, a few small fish about us.

It's very mild, 13C when I left home, 15C when I went home. No coat needed tonight.
