Beautiful morning, little wind and sun.

Well, I was told that only a 5am start would work and out went Wasabi and Ash from Sunderland.

So I went out at 7am with Pete to find 10 x 12oz sinkers on my deck and some other surprises in my luxurious gin cabin, namely a bunch of bananas and giant inflatable one!

So onto the fishing.

Wasabi headed North East to 9 mile wrecks from Sunderland while we went East 8 miles avoiding the crowds and onto clearer water as quick call confirmed the Tyne wrecks were useless.

Pete was straight into fish, a 7lb pollack and I was into ling and cod of the same size.

We headed south to the seaham wrecks which produced a fish a drop, ling and cod to baited red hokkais / mackerel won over squid. Wasabi headed to 10 miles but there was nothing doing.

Seas the Day - 10 kept fish averaging 5-7lb
Wasabi - 1 cod

Moral of the story. Don't be a banana!!

Nice one Jim, I like the prize catch banana photo. It shows there's more fun to be had fishing than just catching fish.
