Suzuki has teamed up with Team Pulsar Racing and other partners to offer technical support and assistance to all Suzuki powered entrants in the 2008 Round Britain Offshore Powerboat Race.
Aquatec Marine Engineering, Snap-on Tools and Marine Track are also on board with this initiative to ensure that all the Suzuki powered teams have the shore side support they need to see them through the 1600 mile marathon.
Classed as possibly the greatest offshore powerboat race in the world and sure to give those competing a severe run for their money The Round Britain Offshore Powerboat Race will run again for the first time in 25 years. The race will take place from the 21st to the 30th of June and will start and finish in Portsmouth.
There are three Suzuki powered boats participating in the race, all within the Sports RIB/RB4 Class. Team Pulsar Racing is entering 2 RIBs, a 7.6m Ribcraft called Vampire and an 8.5m Humber called Wolf, both of which are powered by a single 300hp Suzuki V6 4-stroke outboard.
Also opting for a Suzuki DF300 to power them to the finish line are a team called Mud, Swell and Beers who are using a Picton hulled RIB for the event.
Justin McInerney of Team Pulsar Racing and Driver of Wolf said, "Our intentions are to compete at the highest level in our class and complete the race successfully. We aim, with people’s support, to raise a substantial sum of money for our nominated charities and support those that are less well off than ourselves."
