Personally i wouldn't bother, id expect it'll be fine for bait but a bit heavy for lures. You want something between 7-9ft casting between 10-60g at the most although 10-40g is what most people use. Have a look at the Savagear Bushwacker i think they go for about £60.00, ive had mne about 2 years now and i love it
