  • Ive had look on google maps and it looks as if parking is a doddle and lands you right on ya mark. However, i hadn't realised until looking at google maps that the windsock Mark was on the sea side of connel bridge. wish i was going up this weekend meself but nissan requires me presence. never mind, an opportunity rise again. when i fished ardchattan church i found the state of the tide didnt make a great deal of difference to catching but the sun dropping did. How do you find it ?
    aye aye mickey.
you may not remember me but im after some info.when you fished the windsock at etive did you notice if therer where any places to park up and kip overnight. its just that i have a camper van and it makes it really canny if you can kip close to the mark. ive fished ardchattan church before and its got a canny little layby next to it. im thinking of going up in a couple of weeks time for a few days, when the kids hols are fiished.
    regards davey
p.s. ya handballed me p.b. cod up the round head of roker pier 5 years ago. ive also spoken to you at nissan on line 1 mat handling before.
Hi Micky. Just after some info. What's the tide difference between silloth and the bend in the road at port Carlisle ? Any help will be appreciated
Hi Micky it's Stephen, I met you a few weeks ago at port carlisle, never got chance to thank you for your cracking advice. Went out again the day after further up at port itself just on the bend near harbour wall, both Leon and myself had six each.
Went out today same spot fished 2 Hours either side, very quite, 1 good 42 cm fish an hour after high tide. Tried lug, crab caught that one Mackey and squid. It was a superb day weather wise, like a pond, maybe it's better rougher.

    Cheers.
read with interest both your reports from Port Carlisle, and with the spoon in the Wear, but have you ever tried using lures only? Going to try it on the beach at Roker, hopefully over the weekend. You've goota start somewhere, and I know there's plenty of clear ground there. I'll have to have a reccy up the river to find a few more spots to bounce some plastic about. Seem to remember it being pretty clean just past the rowing platform at south hylton. Tight lines.
well dun micky i was up there the other nite mate had a few cod were u gettin ya crab mate i was gettin fresh crab but the lads given us crap now mate
Just wondering when the bore at port carlisle moves across. is it as soon as the tide turns or do u have to wait til closer to high tide. neva seen it before mate
