  • hi mick been to AMH tackle shop today alan told me he has sold the business and it will still continue as a tackle shop in the future, so that's good news for local anglers
I like the Chinese stuff off e-bay Spectra. 60lb I use the Albright knot. Have a look on you tube loads of examples on there. I just splashed out and got some Berkley Whiplash 65 lb for my 8000. Its a lower diameter than Chinese stuff ( used yesterday and not that impressed like) get yellow easy to see in the dark. I also have 80 lb leader 100m reel £3 off e-bay china.

In saying that I have enjoyed the sport and met some real decent blokes always friendly and helpful.one bloke I met at Hebburn told me to try a promenade but for the life of me can't remember what he called it !! An age thing !! He described it as two tiered top and bottom ! Sorry it's vague lads buts that's the best I can give you !! Any ideas greatly appreciated ! Cheers
mick sheilds pier jst through the first gate there are numbers on harbour side under railings 18 to 19 a was bang in the middle on monday when a got the plaice its a decent shot give it a go sometime hope this helps titelines mick
I only think its any good there after a good NE. Its somewhere i,ve only fished a couple of times and am not keen on it. I much prefer the twin steps area especially right at the end of the prom as if to walk in the direction of steetly. Its good two hours up from high tide and then 2 hours down. you can catch Bass from here if there is a canny surf. Rag on a flowing trace.
    Best wishes Mick.
    Mick
I went down the staincliffe last friday night from 6pm until 1am (high tide was midnight ish) and never got even a bite. Used Rag, razer and squid.
Now i am planning a chuck on Monday night and was wondering would the same place be any better after this weekends winds ? I fished right in front of the staincliffe and about 50 yards to the seaton end were there is not so many sea defence rocks.
    cheers
mick, have they filled all the holes on the cocrete block at the end and how did they do it, to fill them in would take a hell of alot of rubble.
    cheers paul
