I've been told the island in port Carlisle itself can fish well at all states of the tide, it's safe to fish at all states of the tide but you get cut off over high water and have to wait of the tide to drop to get off, Ive never fished it myself but plan to give it a go sometime.

the tide is strange over there the water stands totally still at its low water level til around an hour and a half before the top of the tide, then the bore comes and you get the full flood tide in the space of an hour and a half or so. i'm definately fishing there tomorrow, if you see a green vectra parked up thats me. i,ll probably get there about 1-30pm and fish til just after 5pm.
