Been out of fishing for a couple of years. Trying to get out a bit again. Any tips on what to fish for and where? I realise the cod season is over but heard that plaice might be moving in from now. Is that right and where's a good mark to try? Colossus

Haven't been fishing since June due to an accident that put me out of action for months. Planning to go out next Tuesday. Any info on where's fishing would be appreciated. Don't mind where. Looks like very small tides. Not up to casting huge distances but haven't actually held a rod yet so...

Agree with a lot of this. Think it depends on the day. I\'m not a very experienced boat angler but am trying to do more. Been out twice this month. 1st time used daylights, muppets, pirks and flying collars with long traces. Caught a lot of fish, lost count, most returned, all but one on the...

Take some wasabi and soy sauce and have raw mackerel on the boat. Sod the pan!

Don\'t know what the weathers doing this week but it might be worth ringing round a few boats to see if they\'re going out with spaces. Numbers on the boat section. Had two good days out this week.

That about sums it up. Had quite a lot of undersize codling. Does that mean it\'s going to be good next year?

I enjoy fly fishing but preferably in places that look at least semi-natural and even more preferably where there are some wild fish. River\'s my favourite but most of the best places expensive and have waiting lists. Luckily I have a friend who takes me as a guest no and then. Alnmouth estuary...

Are red codling ok to eat? Never caught one big enough to keep but have I heard rightly that they\'re full of worms?

Sure I read somewhere that the cod season seems to be getting later with less fish november /december and more into april/may. Think it was refering to Bristol channel but maybe it\'s the case up here as well. Can\'t catch any less fish than I have during the winter anyway.
