anybody know the young lad that caught the 11lb 8oz pollock off South Shields pier, it was apprently weighed on the pier and well verified. It is one of the biggest caught from the north east and would be a shame if it was not mentioned. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

red gill, captors name was Frank Griffiths, if anybody knows him, can you get him to give me a ring or give me a contact number.

I know Frank is the pollock man ! But in this case i dont think it was him he will be gutted that someone caught his fish !
Will try to find out who it was , think it was not a regular sand dancer ,may have been a holiday maker ie non-resident

i bet it give a good fight. i have had one 5 pound a that fort like hell well done to the lad that got it hope you can get a pic.

I will pop along and see Frank as Bert says its all he fishes for from Sheilds at this time of year. With pollack being of good size and caught often now, more people or going for them..11lb beats my 4lber hands down last week lol, caught 2 smaller ones today but water dirty from the North wind.

I will ask about but if it was a regular lad i am sure a few people would have known by now, chatted to a few regulars today and none of them said a word, so who knows.
