Who is the recommended insurer for a boat to be kept in the RQ?

Where can I do the RYA Level 2 powerboat course round here?

Can anyone recommend a suitable person to deliver a boat from down south to the RQ? What sort of cost would I be looking at - is there a price per mile sort of calculation?

Where can I find out about doing the radio handling course that I would need for use in a small boat?

regards

Stu

don't think there is a recomended insure for the RQ, just go for the cheapest quote

http://www.deepvee.com/

for both the powerboat course and the vhf, or try the marine and tech in south shields

how big's the boat?? is a trailer job or a low loader?

I've seen a pound a mile quoted somewhere. If its trailerable, can you not fetch it your self??

cheers mark, didn't realise that deep vee did the course.

As to the boat, it will be a 20ft+ quicksilver/arvor and probably wont come with a trailer so was wondering if the cost for delivery was better than buying a trailer.

Stuey,
A friend had a boat trailed up from southampton and they quoted over 3k so he bought a trailer. It suits boats up to 34ft but you would need a serious motor to pull it.

If you want I can ring him see if he still has it.

Cheers

£3k to deliver a boat, think I'm in the wrong line of work!! Got use of a Navara so think that would be ample for towing with, though not to keen on the thought of a long journey including motorways towing a 20ft boat.
