Wanted.........TIP TOP ADVICE FOR SUNDAY COMP AT EASINGTON

Any Jolly fisherman willing to share some local knowledge about fishing South of the Wear. A couple of Northern lads thinking of participating in the Easington Comp this Sunday, but have very limited knowledge of the marks around this area, in fact do you go down the A19 or the A1?

Hi Tubbie Two shoes, with regards to Sunday\'s comp the boundaries i think are from the stream at Crimdon upto Seaham north pier, i think? there is a good variety of ground covered from beach to rock and kelp. The forecast for sunday is for light north westerlies and with this present run of moderate north easterlies i anticipate there should be a healthy smattering of codling caught including the obligatory whiting and flatties. If you\'re thinking of rock marks. Match time is 11.00a.m until four p.m - 5 hours. That may rule out alot of the rock marks as we\'ll all be fishing 1.5 hours into a 5.3 metre spring tide up till high water almost. Favoured marks down this way will include Easington from Pricey\'s point down to Cinderella rock this covers a good area of potentially productive ground such as grassy banks and the facings. Further north Hawthorne bay andf hive may be worth a shot this is noted for goods bags of quality cod in the past. Further south the Bell hole and Blackwater could also be worth a shot. It really is a bit of a gamble on the day, use black runny and frozen crab over the rock including white rag if u have it. At this time of year it is hard to anticipate were might fish, however with this being a full flood match the colliery beaches also can\'t be ruled out particularly marks north of deneholme at horden head further north up the beach towards the water hole, white rock and tommy\'s rock this area is all steeply shelving coal beach and fishes well on a big tide casting does help here though. Streamline your rig for casting as the casters sometimes cash in. In the last open held down here two casters caught the two heaviest fish both joint first with 6lb 10oz. the boundries are from crimdon dean to just after seaham caves than seaham peirs as i know the featherbeds and the hall beach is fishable ????

the boundries are from crimdon dene to ryhope dene.you can fish from the south of where the stream comes out of ryhope dene to crimdon dene .i know there is good marks down easington and hordon but dont know them personally , the blast beach southern end just before cliffs start , hawthorn hive just around the corner from this point both are good marks. the stack a rock that stands on its own about 3/4 of the way down the blast beech has pulled good fish out and has won the comp for a few people . cats eyes , about half way down the blast there is a crack down the cliff face that is the cats eyes . noses point the cliff on the top of the blast or the flat rock in front of if. chemical beech is north of noses point and is where the winner for the seaham open came from . hall beech . old beech is the beech at the bottom of the north pier has pulled out the big one now and again . DIRECTIONS of the a19, athe the murton turn off , right at 1st roundabout , right at 2nd roundabout , right at 3rd roundabout ,follow road down then up hill right at roundabout follw till next roundabout , left at the roundabout then 1st left this will take you to the liesure centre ,let me know if you want more info .

loads of good marks ,ryhope dene ,seaham hall- pit shot ,blast beech , hive ,then down the coast loads of marks but i dont know them ,cinderella rocks , mucky bay sorry but i dont know others .

last report for part of this area is under seaham badger , last year it was won from the hall beech , mainly sandy with rocks here and there , second was cinderella rocks .
