I know I have not posted much on here but I do enjoy reading the posts.
Not sure exactly who has decided not to post again but Please guys don\'t let the idiot minority get the better of the majority of great chaps that are on here.
Don\'t let them think that they have won by driving out the decent folk among us.
I did not see the posts mentioned but was told by a regular on here what it was about.
I agree with the majority, that sort of thing should not be seen on here or any board.

I was one of the board members who decided not to post anymore but I have still been looking in to the board. If I can remember rightly, certain comments were made by certain individuals which could be taken as being of a racist nature. I still stand by what I posted as my post was my own personal opinion and IN NO WAY did I see it as being racist. I AM NOT and NEVER WILL BE a racist as I have a lot of friends, and meet a lot of people in my line of work from all nationalities and I really enjoy meeting those people and class them as my friends. My post was about the fact that my wife and I have struggled against the benefits system in this country for years as she has a m.e. and has been suffering from the condition for the last fifteen years. If I offended ANYONE in my post then I am deeply sorry as I never meant for that to happen. My objection was that I have worked all of my life in this country in the mines and am now working in low-paid security work and it annoys me greatly when benefits are handed out not ONLY to those people who have come into this country for various reasons but also handed out to those born here that refuse to work and contribute to this country and sit back and take an easy ride. I fully understand that there are genuine people out there that really do want to work and contribute to the economy but there are others who quite happily take the benefit money and have no intention of seeking a job and it was that group of people that my main gripe was about. I admit that the reply from Tony featuring the Ku Klux Klan offended and annoyed me very deeply as I was, and still am, of the opinion that it was uncalled for. I am also aware that the subject of racism has no place on a board such as this which I enjoyed greatly until recently but other subjects and comments about a lot of different topics have offended me in the past and whether or not those subjects are treat in a jocular manner, (i.e. the killing in the sixties of three police officers), I havent seen any condemnation of those topics. I was very sorry to see Tony, Jim and others stop posting on the board and if they choose to continue with their choice, the board will be a poorer place without them. I. Myself, took the decision to stop posting for the reasons that I have already given and it is hurting me deeply not to be able to feel part of NESA as I love this site and visit it every day even using the computer at work on occasions. I feel that I have now given my reasons for not posting on the board and would once again, wish EVERYONE associated with the site a very happy Christmas and New Year. i think in the past every single one of us have said or wrote things which we deeply regret. unfortunately on a forum such as this any comments made can be seen by the whole world. after i have written a post i always read through it thoroughly before pressing the button to post then read it again just to make sure that nothing can be either posted that is unsuitable or miscontrued.
banter is great but there comes a point when banter becomes more and can really hurt people. all it takes is a little thought, nothing wrong with being contraversial and giving/taking some stick, i\'ve certainly done my fai share on here regarding for example the keeping of undersize fish for pike baits, ok my views on that subject differ from most on this forum but i would hope things could be discussed using a certain amount of decorum.
the last thing i\'m going to say on the matter is COME BACK ON BOARD LADS ITS CHRISTMAS AND EMOTIONS ARE RUNNING HIGH, THIS IS AN OBSTACLE THAT CAN BE OVERCOME, WITHOUT YOU THE FORUM IS IN REAL DANGER OF COLLAPSE.
as a footnote i think if simmilar things happen again bans or suspensions may be in order.

\"Make Britain all White again\"
there were some heated responses, and some members then got threatening PM\'s from the poster of the above as a result.
Judge for yourself, In my view the above comments can only be viewed as racist.
Don\'t want to rake it up again, but if this is enough of an explanation to encourage those that feel affected to return then, all well and good. I\'ll probably dleted the above in a day or 2 anyway, but at least it\'ll give those that didn\'t see what what said some idea of went went off

Hello Mark. Thank you for posting those comments and I have to say that I had not seen them before. Thank you for also bringing it to my attention that threats had been made to certain people as I was also not aware of this situation. I can now fully understand why this thread caused so much bother and also why Tony, Jim and others took the action that they did. All I saw were the comments made by myself and Jeff plus the original post regarding the trouble with the play that was eventually taken off. I now hope that I can post again and be welcomed back into the fold !. I fully agree that the posts you have brought to my attention were highly offensive to say the very least and for threats to be made against certain people tantamounts to a criminal offence. Thank you once again Mark.

Well i now understand what went on...at last.
Still dont understand why or how it got so heated but there is alot of sites for needless chat, this is a fishing site so we migth as well all get back on and start posting about fishing again.After all, we still have at least 2 months of \"good\" cod fishing, then its the summer for mackerel,colie and boat fishing

Hey george m8 all jeff said basically was, he recognised a heated situation and wasn\'t going to fan the flames. A very sensible option at the time.

Hello Mate, Sorry for any misunderstanding regarding Jeff. The point I was trying to make was that Jeff had had the same problems as me in trying to get benefits for his wife. I didnt mean it any other way. I think it was Jeff who replied to my post on the subject saying that his wife had been in an accident years ago and couldnt get the correct benefits for her without a hell of a fight. If it wasnt jeff, I apologise sicerely to him and his family.

As the writer of the original thread, I make no apologies for airing my opinion. I do, however, totally disagree with the posts highlighted by Mark earlier. The original post was not meant as a racist rant, it was my opinion on a topical issue. What followed. in certain posts, was an absolute disgrace, and I distance myself from those with their \'opinions\'
I posted an apology the next morning when I read the utter crap that had followed my thread, and I still feel gutted that some of the most valued members of this board are absent because of certain people.
I want a clear conscience from this. If the people who left have a problem with what I wrote, please pm me.

maybe it came across rang davey. your original post wasn\'t the problem, I even had a bit winge in support of your point mesell. what followed is where the problem came, when follow ups from other sources turned into a party political from the BNP!
