OK.....
I\'ve decided to put this in a new topic instead of Alans original topic so that the \"old stuff\" doesn\'t get rekindled. (You\'ll know what I mean).

Anyway.....
here\'s Jonnys\' photo of his seatbox conversion.

I think it would knack me aswell Bri.

The \"wimp\" comment was just bravado, m8.......lol

HEY HEY HEY lads! it is a good design and when i meet yas i let yas test it out !
how can it knack ya its like carrying a bag! not striany areas!...
the frame doest cum into contact with you either!

I used to use a seatbox......Aye it was alright to sit on....but I HATED carrying it.
I\'ve used a proper rucsac for the last 3 or so years.......MUCH better to carry a heavy load in, (no not choccy bickies, Bri....lol), but it\'s not great for sitting on......then again, I tend NOT to sit when I\'m fishing, so I\'m not too bothered about that.

im whats commonly known as a lazy git ,if im on the rocks etc i stand but on the beach when theres nowt doing i like to park me butt for me coffee and munchies ,i do find the boxes a bit low for comfort though ,you gotta sit bunched up,ive got me bivvy for when the snow gets here and me chair complete with cup holder lol i like me home comforts on them long nights ;) need a bigger car though

ill give ya 8 out of 10 jonny :D

Never having tried to carry it Jonny, I can\'t really award marks.
BUT, as you\'ve done it yourself and if YOU find it makes it easier to carry / more comfy to sit on, then it\'s gotta be 10/10.

Cheers m8,there was a Breakaway conversion on Ebay which finished at midday a couple of days back unfortunatley I was giving it big ZZZZzzzzzzz and missed it,it went for £18 plus postage £3 i think, canny price if its in good nick like it said.Think I might buy a new one or see what santy brings me.

Sorry to bust your bubble Johnny but you are\'nt the first to do this sort of conversion, I had one until last christmas I had mine for a good 3-4 years, it is a good idea but I cant take the credit for it, it was a mate from Seaham, his workmate still uses his and it must be 5-6 years old now as they were the first ones I had seen, the idea had been tweeked alot before I got mine converted I still have all the bits in the garage if anyone is interested in copieing it. It it is alot shorter than yours and it is spaced about an inch from the box so you can open the lid properly. I nearly sent my Breakaway conversion back because it broke the first time I used.
I did get a few odd lucks of other anglers when I had my home made conversion but it served me well and more than stood the test of time.

simon, you speak with much forked tongue and stir many bad medicine.

I\'d like to see these conversions tested on the Tynemouth Pier Gate Challenge or Hendon Fence Grand Prix.

ell mine WILL hold out of anything throwing at it AND THAT IS A PROMISE! u name it, it will withstand it. Apart from the odd bulldozer like!
LOL

Ell, they are a good idea and if well built are stronger than the Breakaway conversion, like I said I had mine for 3-4 years, it had been to Ireland, and around the coast of the uk with me without any problems, the first time I used my Breakaway conversion the bottom back support snapped.

Take no notice to the doubters johnny, its a good idea of saving yourself a bit of money.

Ell you have a tendancy of saying things when you haven\'t anything decent to say. :D

well said, simon i totally agree with u m8!
just think of the extra bags of bait i could get with the saving of a box conversion?.... ;)

Christ its only a Two Bob seat conversion - I am so pleased it worked Jonny (having actually seen it ) But i am MORE pleased that Simon wasnt invovled in the Middle East Negotiations as i reckon we would be in more turmoil than enough, Hardly Kofi Annan is he Ell. ;) ;) :D
