As many might know i dont use perks often and dont really rate them for north east wrecking but i know the likes of the boys use them and do very well.

So whats your opinions on them and whats the biggest fish you have ever caught on pirks?

I will start..a 9lb cod.

Tony Cutter caught a 1 lb 3 oz codling on one last year on Dave\'s boat, Mind you the combined weight weighed with the pirk was over 10 lbs :D :D :D ;)

This year Dave you will get them, thats if your not messing about in the nasa space craft lol

You still talking about given the grave yard a bash? best if a couple of boats try it at the same time..safety in numbers.

Yes , i am . Was cross referencing the wrecks this afternoon , I\'ve got approx 220 logged and there are some large clusters to try as well . Most are in the 25 mile radius max range , max depth about 90m .

It\'s along way down to the bottom Dave and along way back up lol.It might be worth it only time can tell.It\'s not fished very well the last couple of seasons but you never know it\'s always worth a shot a sit wont get fished much.

That was max depth Rich , most are no deeper than our local wrecks . It would appear them U-boat captains were creatures of habit and would pick an area to hunt in . A lot of the wrecks are almost lying on top of each other .

bloody good luck though what! Imagine if we didn\'t get our mits on the Enigma blighter. Donald Ducked

Imagine if Goering hadn\'t been quite so stupid. Double daisy ducked.

hope the fish are lying on top of each other aswell, thing is with the graveyard because it aint fish very often ,1 wreck could easily hold both the fish and catch of a lifetime...we can only try though...and by the way dont even think of going and not telling/inviting me ha ha ha

Dave
You still offering me that spare place on Dolly for a longer trip(down on groveling knees)LOL. Due to the depth the possible way to fish them will be 15ft traces with twin tails droped to the bottom then wound up for 10-15 turns then dropped back down. Here coddie coddie coddie!

yeah mate , no problem . Sounds like it may be the first of many , the graveyard is the most heard of but there are many , many more clumps to explore .

We are waiting for a big high pressure coming and a long period of flat sea\'s - and they will arrive :P

Thanks mate. Not long to go now until the settled weather is upon us and you can get yer moneys worth out of dolly. I bet yer cant wait.

Was yalking with the Skipper of Volante only yesterday about distant wrecks....has has numerous marks that he has not tried from Hartlepool up to Blyth area and 25-35 miles out. He has also some un-fished marks, (by rod anyway) that some Sunderland trawlerman stumbled over!!

Like most of you when we get a a few days of good settled weather we will be giving it a try. Our other consideration was anchoring over them and bait fishing.

Jeff.

Just a few pics to get yer thinking ............ this is what we`ll soon be looking at.
