Star photography ????????

Anyone tried it before? Had my first "attempt" over in Drummore last week. In this shot you see Jupiter top centre,Drummore seafront at the bottom and our neghbours caravan on the right.

if you can lock the bulb on your camera, you can take a mega long exposure shot.
focus the camera on the north star, you need a triod for this.
then you will have a in focus north star that never moves, and all of the other stars will leave a circular light trail from the earths movement, dosnt take to long to do.

If you're photographing the moon use a fast exposure - might be dark all around you but the albedo from the moon is very bright, long exposure will give you a big white ball without the shadow details.

you should have just come down to mine man , the moon is clearly seen at the bottom of my garden
 
Took a few more trials on our caravan park first. Even there is light pollution you can still make out the Milky Way. Thats our caravan top left

Got into star trails and even managed to get a few shots of the Aurora Borealis(blurred) over on the Mull of Galloway. Will post more up when I get them sorted out.
