In a moment of self delusion I bought 2 multis and a beachcaster, imagining myself blasting a lead 150 yards plus! Ha, it just isn't happening, an old dog cannot indeed learn new tricks. One multi sold, so here I have a Penn Powerstix 3 piece 15ft surf 4-6oz and a Diawa Millionaire Tournament 7ht. Rod in original bag, reel has box and tools. Both mint condition. Want to swap for a bass rod 11ft and good fixed spool reel, maybe Penn or Shimano. Any offers please?

A guy spent an hour and a half trying to teach me (and Lynn with her 8ft pier rod). I haven't seen a grown man in tears for a long time. I'm told he has never offered to teach anyone since!
I took the hint, hence the above.Last edited by kayos; 18-06-2012, 03:43 PM.2016 - Cod, Dab, Dogfish, Gurnard, Ling, Mackerel, Saithe, Scorpian fish. .

Well m8 looking at your beachcaster you would never cast that distance with it as i would recommend a zziplex pro master as they are excellent for long distance casting and your multiplier is a fantastic reel as i have one myself and had no problems with it at all and i am 71 years of age and can cast 170 yds plus as what i see on your multiplier the line is way too thick as you need an 18lb with a 50 lb breaking strain and then its just practice all the way untill you get what you want m8 and like i say i would never use a 3 piece caster ever.

I have two Penn Powerstix 15ft M/FS rods. I use them with Multis during the day and Fixed spool at night. They cast beatifully with both but are powerful, you don't need to wack into them to get 130 yards OTG, a smooth OTG cast goes like a rocket.

I have a Penn Powerstix Surf 15ft M/FS. I have used both multiplyers and F/S reels on it and it cast beautifully smooth. At the moment using OTG I can get about 140 with the F/S and am up to 110 with the Multi, but still have to use max magnets on the multi to stop birdies, at the moment, butI am sure it will easily top 150 with the multi with a bit more practice. It is also very good at indicating bites.
Plenty more great reviews on the web.2016 - Cod, Dab, Dogfish, Gurnard, Ling, Mackerel, Saithe, Scorpian fish. .
