Keep in mind that I live just north of Whitley Bay and work on the Team Valley, so that's where collection can be arranged for the following:
First up, a British Army cold weather (arctic) parka with quilted liner, in the following size:
It was issued and worn, then given to me some time ago but it's way too small for me
These work great under an outer shell layer, so if you have a goretex shell (for example) this would make a great winter layering system beneath it. They are meant for sedentary duties like sentry work, and they really are warm and toasty.
Next up, I found this in my garage and I have no idea where it came from, how old it might be or why it's even there
Masterline Mastercaster rod, 11' long and 1-4oz casting weight:
The action feels a little soft but it would make a good youngsters rod or might work well for float fishing, free lining from the rocks, spinning, flattie bashing etc.
There is no rod bag with it, but it seems to be in good order other than some superficial scratches to the outer varnish. Reel seat and rings are good so it would get someone up and running for the price of getting your rear in gear and collecting it
An old 'made in Sweden' Abu 6000/6500 with levelwind :
This is an old reel that I have kept for years as a spare. At the latest count I have fourteen other Abu reels (only seem to use three of them regularly though - what's that all about ? ) so the likelihood of this ever being used is pretty much nil. Someone may as well get something out of it.
There is a little bit of play when winding the handle but these old reels can be tightened up by 'adjusting' the inner rivet that holds everything together. Usually this can be done several times before there's nothing left to work with so although there is a bit of play it should still last a good many years given a bit of care and TLC. Spool and levelwind are all good, the line out clicks nice and loud and I tested it last week by loading some 15lb line on it and blasting 5oz leads over the river Blyth.
Lastly, four alloys to fit a Nissan Almera Tino (came from an TDi SE model I had the misfortune of owning a few years ago, but they were also fitted to other Nissan models):
Tyres (195/65R15) have a bit left in them but be advised that one of the alloys is dinged on the rim and would need a repair to use it. The other three are in perfect nick and have never been curbed, so at the very least they could make handy spares if anyone has the same style on their vehicle.
All free to whoever wants to collect them but, please, make sure you actually need the stuff and have a use for it. In particular I'd like the rod and reel to go to someone starting up or who is getting the kid(s) into fishing and needs the gear. I'd far rather know the kit is used and appreciated than shoved in a cupboard and forgotten about...
If you want to show your appreciation, throw a quid or two into the RNLI collection box next time you see one
There we go.
First come, first served, no squabbling at the back, and at these prices I won't be accepting any stupid offers
