    Raptor,
could I ask, what is the diameter of the butt, and what does the reel seat measure from bottom of the butt.

I am looking at Zziplex to cut down for a uptide rod, 10'-4".

I am looking at the M4, but this might fit the bill.
    any photos ?

    cheers

    Paul

      No problem Paul

Centre of Reelseat to end butt cap 10",butt diameter is a slim 25mm approx no more.
Rod diamentions are 6'+butt 7'+ tip,not a 50/50.M4 gt's and evo is a follow up to this high performance match rod.

          many thanks for the response,
I am really struggling to get a blank, Century nor Greys wont entertain me, too busy !!, conoflex have gone down, Stan Massey (Alba rods) bought the stock but no Demon blanks among them, looking at the Zziplex uptide blanks.
I have a few alternatives to look at, ie get a quality, proven tip and get a butt for it.

I would buy the rod for the tip really and get a short butt to match it, if I cant then chop the butt down as a last resort.
this would not get resold, its a permanent fixture on the boat.

the fishing in the north east is not "uptiding" as many people class this style, the boat is at anchor and simply casting away from the boat from the sides and out of the back 40-60 yards.
I am using a old conoflex cod 6, customised, at the moment, after selling the Suveron uptider, but its a bit heavy and going to treat myself

          thanks again,
          Paul

No problem very interesting idea and dilemma, blank is very light weight and powerful.

Was designed by TC with imput from Julian Shambrook, specifically as he wanted a more powerful version to standard 4500 blank,to be able to cast 175grm leads plus three baits to long range on Chesil beach in matches. From memory he told me he had cast over 250+ yards at a UKSF event with it.Bit history and but Not that thats much use to you.I just hope it go s to a good appreciative home,as selling very reluctently if truth be known.

Cheers for your interest mate, yours if you want it,it dont sell local quick its going on all the national sales forums.

              Thanks for that Raptor
yes I appreciate it is a TC rod, in fact I still have my Conoflex DC8 "Unground", Black, very early 80's not the first Orange ones but same era, from when TC was with McMannus at Conoflex, when semi carbon/carbon blanks were being developed and just coming into the game thanks to those 2 gents.
That rod has some serious fishing and lifting big fish, never flackered, matched with Abu 8000c, best combo ever.

I have a Greys Nitra and a Platinum plus now, they cannot handle what the DC8 could, I had a Century Sport before them, great rod. I had a "Tony Taylor" Pateke Morton before the DC8, that was Century very early days and early semi carbon, those days you could go the factory in Washington have a look around, have a bit of crack, get them re whipped/repaired etc.

I was gutted to hear Conoflex went down, I may be wrong but we are where we are today because of TC and McMannus, then Terry Carroll took it to a new level with ZZiplex,............ Greys & Century followed suit with some great research and development and both have their proven sea rods.............
I got a Excalibur Braid boat blank off Century, customised it, brilliant rod. I cannot get a blank off them for "uptiding" to match it...............I even thought of another 20-40 braid boat blank again, but with a longer butt to make 10+' if I could swing it with Century, it would be well suitable for the winter fishing at anchor.

              BUY BRITISH................BUY NORTH EAST ENGLAND

              sorry I get carried away...................
